Taking Care of Your Breasts after Breast Augmentation

Here in our Beverly Hills plastic surgery office we want your experience with breast augmentation to go as smoothly as possible and that includes knowing how to take care of your breast implants after surgery.

Unfortunately they don’t come with a user manual! We have a few recommendations about how to care for your breasts/breast implants that you may not know.  Following these simple suggestions can go a long way in helping you to maintain the health and longevity of your breast implants.

First off you want to make sure your girls are well supported.  Because implants add weight to your breasts gravity can easily drag them down without good support.  If the skin of your breasts are already loose to begin with, the extra weight can affect the shape of your breasts. So a good supportive bra is very important. Thankfully there are a lot of very stylish yet supportive bras on the market.

However, a supportive bra is not the only bra you’ll need. We tell all our Beverly Hills client to also get a good sports bra, especially if you are into high impact aerobic work outs. Jogging up and down and other types of impact sports stress the breast tissues more than other activities. We also advise wearing a sports bra during activities such as hiking or horseback riding for comfort as well as support.

It may sound strange but massaging your breast daily can help them feel and look more natural. How long do you need to massage for? Not long. We often advise our Beverly Hills clients to massage their breast implants a little each time they shower. The more you massage the longer they will last after breast augmentation surgery.  What’s the best way to massage your breast implants? Moving them up and towards the middle of the chest will help them move naturally like natural breast tissue.

Hopefully you’ve found this blog helpful. Again, we want you and our Beverly Hills clients to have the best experience possible when it comes to their breast augmentation. These simple suggestions can help maintain the look and longevity of your breast augmentation. Contact our Beverly Hills plastic surgery office today to look your best now and forever.
